job description : Salary Range: $16.21 – $21.08 HourlyHiring Range: $16.21 – $18.65 HourlyJob Summary : The primary tasks completed by the employee assigned to this position are to complete quality assurance reviews of scanned documents, filing documents, listening to dictated reports, transcribing and formatting reports, and entering the reports into appropriate software programs, and performing other duties as assigned. Organizational skills and ability to stand for extended periods are required.Experience, Knowledge, Skills :

High school diploma or equivalent
1-3 years’ experience in office environment and/or a combination of education and experience
Advanced oral and written communication skills
Basic math and accounting skills
Excellent customer service and public relations skills
Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
Requires the ability to read, comprehend, and infer, and then apply information appropriately

Essential Functions :

Communicate orally in a face-to-face setting
Accurately enter or validate information in a computer/ keyboard device
Comprehend and make inferences from dictated or written material
Sort, separate, arrange, file, or distribute written material
Operate standard office equipment requiring continuous repetitive arm-hand movements
Accurately transcribe narratives
Analyze information and accurately transfer said information into provided software
Reviews, evaluates, and corrects police and sheriff’s reports prior to submitting them to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for statewide and nationwide crime reporting statistics

Work Environment & Physical Requirements :

Frequent and heavy contact with public and employees in person and by telephone
Work is performed in an open office environment
Exposure to frequent background noise
Employee may be asked to drive personal vehicle for business purposes
Employee spends extended periods of time at fixed workstation
Employee may be required to conduct business in alternate locations within City buildings or field sites, sometimes in formal settings
Employee may be required to work overtime, holidays, evenings, shifts, or weekends
Employee may have frequent interruptions; and be required manage competing priorities with inflexible deadlines
Employee may have frequent contact with the public-in person, via email/telephone, sometimes adverse or confrontational situations with internal/external customers
Employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; work performed is sedentary

Employee is subject to inside environment with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes

Vision enough to interpret computer screens and documents to assist the public and complete work assignments; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Manual dexterity enough to accurately input, retrieve and verify work assignments; employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
Duties may occasionally require light to moderate physical effort that includes: stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; frequent standing or walking; frequently lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds; maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks and frequently working with light objects and light hand tools
Required to sit in a cubicle, at a desk, and use p personal computer and keyboard throughout their entire shift maintaining hands, arms, back, legs, and feet in the same position for extended periods of time; when not sitting at the desk, the incumbent is required to walk throughout the office space, performing tasks such as filing, carrying copy paper, using the fax machine or printers
Extensive work is performed on a computer with repetitive data entry and 10-key calculations; work is primarily performed at a desk
