Your Opportunity

The Municipal Research Group is responsible for analyzing credit across the municipal investment-grade credit spectrum and the entire yield curve. Our primary goal is to assess credit opportunities in the municipal space for the Schwab money-market funds, bond funds, ETFs, and separately managed accounts. The Analyst will be responsible for:

Identifying legal, structural, and credit risks for credit-enhanced municipal transactions and tender option bonds,
Analyzing issuers and debt structures within the health care, higher education, or general government sectors
Preparing written reviews and oral presentations for review committees,
Providing on-going surveillance of holdings in the sector, and
Maintaining internal sector databases.

What you are good at

Join a team of seasoned research analysts who focus on municipal credits across the yield curve and credit spectrum
Analyze municipal structured securities in the primary and secondary markets across multiple sectors, assigning internal ratings, making investment recommendations, and providing on-going surveillance of your credit portfolio
Confidently communicate your recommendations
Work both independently and as part of the team in making appropriate decisions on credits in the market and within our clients’ portfolios.

What you have

Bachelor’s degree required, MBA/CFA or post-graduate degree highly preferred
3-5 years of direct credit experience at a rating agency, bond insurer or buy-side firm
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Confidence to express your credit views to portfolio managers in a timely manner
Strong writing skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively

Colorado Compensation

Target Total Compensation – 105,300-210,500
