OverviewThe City of Louisville invites motivated individuals to apply for our IT Desktop Support Technician position to join our Information Technology Team.This position works under the general supervision of the IT Application & Project Specialist and will interact with all internal customers across the organization. We have over 100 full time employees in multiple departments. You will assist in fielding incoming tickets from end users to resolve desktop issues. Help desk ticketing system is used to document the entire problem-solving process. Technical abilities, professionalism, and excellent verbal and written communications skills are a necessity to support our internal customers.
The ideal candidate is forward thinking, passionate about IT and excited to create a positive impact within our team and for our internal customers. You will gain experience related to IT support services, make professional contacts through networking and gain hands-on experience to enhance your IT skills.
This is a one year term limited position with the possibility of continuing to a permanent full time position.
$500.00 sign-on bonus!!! (on the first pay period after 90 days of employment).
Examples of Duties

Support the IT team in the maintenance of hardware, software and other systems
Troubleshoot issues with equipment like printers, desktop computers and laptops
Assist with audio-visual (A/V) setups and support for conference rooms and meetings
Assist with software and hardware asset management
Support the IT Service Delivery team with daily tasks and projects
Acts as a point of contact to provide end user support through information updates, creation and tracking of service requests, and performing basic hardware and software troubleshooting tasks.
Assists with user and system account management tasks such as resetting passwords and updating user information.
Helps provide answers to user questions about basic usage of software & hardware.
Helps provide escalations of incidents and requests to higher level staff.
Other duties as assigned to grow and develop your IT skills
This position is considered a critical/essential worker and is therefore responsible for responding to emergencies and/or disasters that may require additional overtime or adjustments to your normal schedule to fit the needs of the organization

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Windows based desktop and laptop computer systems (Windows 7 and Windows10)
Experience working in an environment which includes personal computers and mobile devices using Microsoft operating systems, integrated automated systems, and voice/data/image communications.
Good communication skills and excellent customer service skills.
Basic understanding of IT security.
Basic troubleshooting skills with Microsoft Office products and Outlook client.

General QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Computer Science or other related IT degree preferred
Two years of experience working in Information Technology that includes direct end-user support with professional customer service experience, call center, helpdesk, or service desk support
Any equivalent combination of education, certifications, training and experience may be considered as determined by the City of Louisville.
Ability and willingness to work nights and on weekends on occasion.

SPECIAL LICENSE, REGISTRATION, OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED: Valid Colorado Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (no major violations within last 3 years).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; speak and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is typically performed indoors in an office environment at a desk. The noise level in the work environment is usually low. Hybrid work from home and office schedule may be available.
OTHER NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS:

Successful candidates may be required to pass Word and Excel testing.
A background investigation will be performed on qualified candidates.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,918.40 – $66,206.40 per year
