Full Job Description :-
VP, People & Culture
Gravity Haus is an inclusive community that enables an active lifestyle – the seamless merging of work, play, and outdoor adventures. We believe in asking three questions:
Is it good for you?
Is it good for the planet?
Is it an amazing experience?
Based in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, we’re enabling world-class experiences for the modern adventurer, specializing in uniquely designed guest rooms, functional co-working spaces, holistic training and recovery programs, and thoughtfully crafted food and beverage offerings – all curated with a focus on sustainability, connections with nature, and our unique brand of “haus-pitality.” With properties in Winter Park, Vail, Breckenridge, and Truckee-Tahoe and future developments in the works, we’re rapidly broadening our reach and poised to double the size of our workforce over the next 12-24 months.
With this momentum comes the need to make sure we’re scaling our team and culture in line with our vision, values, and goals. That’s where
you come in. You’re a resourceful, entrepreneurially-minded People & Culture leader who’s eager for the opportunity to build and create. You’re driven by the ability to make an enormous impact, while learning from and collaborating with exceptional colleagues. You’ll draw on your skills and experience to help us grow our team, scale our people programs, and develop a culture that serves as a sustainable competitive advantage as we expand. Reporting to Gravity Haus’ CEO, Jim Deters, you’ll work with a high degree of autonomy to design and lead the organization’s approach to all things People & Culture, creating a foundation that will position the company and its people to thrive for years to come.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to step into a career-making role that will enable you to develop and fully embody your potential as a leader, while providing valuable exposure to the operations of a multi-unit organization rapidly growing to $100M.
More About You:
You’ve led People & Culture or a related function within a fast-moving, high-growth environment, with at least 3 years experience in a Director or VP-level role.
You’re a resourceful, self-motivated leader who’s comfortable navigating ambiguity and carving a new path with minimal direction.
You have demonstrated success building a high-volume recruiting and training program, preferably in the hospitality industry (or a willingness to learn and understand the dynamics of recruiting/training in the hospitality industry).
You’re able to adapt dynamically to shifting internal and external conditions.
You have strong business acumen that you use to align people and culture initiatives with the company’s overall strategic direction.
You have exceptional emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
You’re able to blend the strategic and visionary aspects of the role with a hands-on, tactical approach.
You’re a true team player who can set your ego aside and find win-for-all solutions.
You can anticipate future trends and consequences and adjust accordingly.
You have an appreciation for and commitment to the outdoors, sustainability, and your own personal growth.
What You’ll Do:
Act as a strategic partner to the company’s CEO and executive team, collaborating to realize the company’s vision, mission, and goals.
Design, implement, and iterate on programs and initiatives aimed at culture-building, employee engagement, performance management, recruiting, training, and development, all with an eye toward affirming the company’s brand and enhancing the value of its member experience. This includes developing and ensuring the consistent execution of service standard training across all lines of business.
Cultivate a steady pipeline of talent by developing scalable recruiting strategies and operations; stewarding the company’s employer brand and honing its employer value proposition; and creatively leveraging recruiting partners and channels.
Manage and align compensation and benefit offerings across the organization to support the company’s people and culture goals. Regularly assess the best plans for our team’s needs and financial resources.
Assess, optimize, and manage the company’s HR technology platforms, including overseeing the transition away from a PEO relationship.
Develop and manage a departmental budget.
Ensure the company’s compliance with relevant laws.
Grow and lead a People & Culture team to support the company’s needs over time.
What We Can Offer You:
Competitive compensation, consisting of a base salary of $150-$170k (depending on experience), plus generous options package
Medical, dental, and vision insurance including a company contribution of $4,960 annually. Voluntary FSA and HSA spending account contribution. Voluntary supplemental insurance including Life and AD&D, Aflac, Metlife, Farmers Home & Auto, Legal, Pet, and Disability.
401(k) program available at 1 year of employment with 50% employer match up to 3%.
Progressive “take what you need” PTO policy
Flexibility to work from wherever you work best
Paid Parental leave program.
Support for professional development opportunities.
Access to all Gravity Haus membership benefits, including discounted stays at our properties and hotel partners, a Dryland Fitness & Spa membership, and access to premium outdoor gear from top brands through Haus Quiver
Monthly executive off-sites at our properties, consisting of fun outdoor activities
Annual company trip to Moab
This role comes with a high degree of flexibility, with the ability to work from any location but being based in Colorado is preferred. However, given the nature of the role, you’ll be expected to visit properties regularly to connect with team members and ensure they are feeling supported, assess service quality and engagement levels, and execute training.
Gravity Haus is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building a diverse team and inclusive work environment. Our mission includes enabling access to the outdoors for all. We welcome and encourage candidates from historically marginalized communities to apply.
