COVID-19 VACCINATION NOTICE: Covid19 vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption is required for employment with the Mental Health Center of Denver. Applicants who are not vaccinated at the time of offer acceptance can ask for instructions on where to go to obtain vaccination or on how to request an exemption. Newly hired employees must be fully vaccinated (that is, at least two weeks past their final does of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen) and provide proof, or have an approved medical or religious exemption, on or before their start date.
STARTING SALARY: $24.04/hr – $50,003 annually
Hours: Monday-Friday 12p-9p (This is a fully remote position.)
Position Summary: TherapyDirect is a SAMHSA grant funded program by Mental Health Center of Denver and a brand-new way of providing urgent mental healthcare. TherapyDirect is a completely virtual service that connects people seeking services with therapists and peer specialists.
The Intake Coordinator serves as the TherapyDirect entry point. As the Intake Coordinator you will answer video calls through an on-line software platform. The Intake Coordinator will screen calls for eligibility for services while simultaneously checking in an electronic medical records system for eligibility, complete brief intake assessments and gather demographic information, link participants to program clinicians or peers for care and provide referrals to community resources as necessary. The Intake Coordinator will also be responsible for using and charting in a medical record system as well as an internal data collection system so that data can be reported to grant funders. The Intake Coordinator will also be assisting in the signing of digital consent forms and verbally explaining information about a research study associated with TherapyDirect.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Answer video calls from the community through an on-line software platform.
Look up consumer information on multiple computer platforms including a medical records system.
Link program participants to clinicians or peers for services in real time using a digital software platform.
Understand insurance coverage for Behavioral Health including looking up information in a state database.
Refer consumers to other mental health providers or resources in the community as appropriate.
Coordinate scheduling appointments with team members.
Virtual screening and timely documentation of the screening in the medical record or through other digital platforms.
Assisting people seeking services in understanding and signing digital consent forms.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or other related human services degree and one year experience working in screening/assessment in behavioral health or a related field.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Great customer service.
A calm and assuring voice over a digital platform.
Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practice.
Knowledge of community resources.
Ability to assess crisis situations virtually and intervene appropriately independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in clinical documentation in an electronic health record.
Proficiency with a variety of software applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, Skype, Avatar, Power App Meal Check-in. Intermediate understanding of computer language and functionality.
Ability to work with many disruptions and multitask.
Independently managing time and workload as this is a fully remote position.
Ability to learn new tasks and workflows quickly as this is a developing program and tasks could shift as program development occurs.
Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach, operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, facsimile, copier/printer/scanner, and other business machines. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a remote position. May require occasional evenings or weekends.
