The Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) team delivers a managed Kubernetes service on Azure to make enterprises successful at building, deploying, and managing cloud native applications. The team is responsible for building AKS’ features and experiences, improving its fundamentals like reliability, scale and performance as well as expanding its ecosystem with 1st and 3rd party product partnerships.

Azure Kubernetes Service is a regional service available in 35 locations around the world. The global availability of the service as well as business continuity and disaster recovery are of utmost importance to Microsoft and our customers. At AKS, we are working on ways to improve infrastructure availability through a set of investments in resiliency and availability as well as making BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) simpler for our customers.

We are seeking a Product Manager to join the AKS Fundamentals team and focus on infrastructure resiliency, availability, and BCDR. In this role, you will define and execute on a roadmap to improve global availability and infrastructure resiliency for Azure Kubernetes Service and customers. You will make product plans for buildouts around the globe and focus on improving availability, resiliency, and COGS in AKS. You will lead programs to evolve engineering culture around quality and make a big impact on Azure customers’ experience.

Responsibilities

Define and track the roadmap for availability and resiliency.
Vision and define the product roadmap for BCDR features.
Lead a program to improve efficiency and COGS
Prioritize the engineering roadmap in accordance with engineering resource allocation and drive against the commitments.
Partner closely with Azure Compute, Networking, Storage, and other Azure teams to improve availability and BC.
Lead a group of brilliant engineers on the execution of product roadmap.

Qualifications

Preferred:

1+ years of Program Management or Product Management experience

Experience with container technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift

Experience in data analytics

BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Required:

2+ years of experience in a Cloud Infrastructure technical role
