House Manager, Boulder, Colorado
Seeking a hospitality-oriented House Manager with strong organizational and house team leadership skills for a busy, active, wellness and environmentally conscious family in Boulder, CO. The ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic, detail-oriented and able to anticipate Principals’ needs and provide exceptional service in a timely manner.The family is open to an individual or a couple.
Responsibilities-Responsible for complete management and care of a large residence, guest house, family and pet.-Day-to-day management and schedules of staff and vendors including but not limited to housekeepers, chef, nanny, landscaper, gardener, handyman, designers and construction contractors-Flexible on schedule and available 24/7 for emergencies-Daily walk throughs of property (interior and exterior), ensuring principals aesthetics, identifying and planning for maintenance needs, security issues, etc.-Create and manage checklists for yourself and team members for daily tasks to ensure property is consistently maintained-Ensure your team members are well trained and managed for success-Create and implement privacy and security protocols with Principal. Ensure the household is secure at all times and all visitors/vendors are documented and supervised.- Careful and thorough oversight of contractors, including screening individuals for backgrounds, on-site supervision and completing NDA’s.- Coordinate contractor proposals, budgets and negotiations in partnership with the family office.-Coordinate with the Family Office on all HR/people management topics, including performance management, hiring and termination, gaps in team coverage, etc.-Accountability and management of household budgets, invoices, and purchases with consistent reporting to theFamily Office-Responsible for all household organization and external storage units.-Oversee and optimize sustainability systems including but not limited to energy efficiency, recycling, composting, minimizing waste, sourcing ethical and clean products-Assist Principals in wardrobe management and packing/unpacking for frequent travel-Maintain close communication and detail-oriented coordination with Executive Assistants, and household team atPrincipals’ second residence.-Maintain all personal and home files-Manage the maintenance and care for multiple vehicles- Coordinate and prepare for hosting guests and family members frequently.-Planning and support for household events, including coordinating with full time chef and managing housekeeping team to ensure all aspects are considered.-Receive and process all mail and packages. Be proactive and consistent with timely returns of items that are not needed.-Ensure all household pets are cared for and manage veterinary appointments
Skills / Characteristics-A people and pet lover with a welcoming presence for team, family, vendors and guests alike-An outstanding people leader with experience managing teams of 5+ people with the ability to communicate at all levels.-Ability to stay focused on meeting and exceeding highly private Principals/Clients needs-Possess superior project management, process improvement, and time management skills-Able to give constructive feedback to a team to help improve performance while keeping morale high-Understands that the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion are required-Possess a hands-on attitude – providing service when staff or vendors cannot-Must be tech friendly and comfortable using or being trained for Google Workspace, Slack and Asana
Qualifications-Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience working in private homes or a background in hospitality and/or property management.-Outstanding references from both current and previous employers-Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desired but not a requirement.- Must be eligible to work in the US- US driver’s license, excellent driving record, reliable transportation- Valid passport and ability to travel in the US and international- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID and willing to share proof of immunizations
Benefits & Compensation-Full-time, Exempt position-Competitive compensation based on experience-Up to 20% performance-based Bonus-Medical, Dental, Vision benefits-401K + 4% Employer Match after 6 months of employment-Possibility of Employer-provided housing adjacent to the property in a pet-friendly home suitable for a couple or family close to hiking trails and downtown Boulder.-Please include salary requirements. Pay: $75,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
