Are you someone who loves working in a fast-paced environment? Are you competitive? Do you enjoy being physically active at work? Then becoming an Order Selector for Safeway is the right role for you!
Warehouse Workers are active throughout their day working independently using a voice-controlled system to select full-case grocery, frozen, and/or perishable products using powered pallet jacks. You will palletize cases (how good at Tetris are you?) and prepare pallets to ship to your local store. All while being a safety champion.
Starting pay is $24.70-$26.34 per hour, paid on weekly basis. Reach full scale within 1 year and earn a weekly retention bonus amounting to $5,000 over 1 year!
Freezer Position – starts at 4am, ends when work is completed (around 12:30pm), temps range from 32 degrees to -20degrees (freezer suits are provided)
Produce – $26.35/ hour – starts at 2:30pm – ends when the work is completed (around 11pm), temps range from 33 degrees to 55 degrees
Meat – $26.35/hour – starts at 2:30pm – ends when the work is completed (around 11pm), temps range from 33 degrees to -20 degrees (we do provide freezer suits when needed.)
Reliability is key, as you are part of a larger team that will depend on you to be punctual and deliver on a daily basis.
Weekend availability is required. This is a union warehouse with days off and shifts being based on seniority.
Our warehouse and distribution teams do more than pick orders and pack pallets; if you are looking to build a career Safeway has growth opportunities that will allow you to build experience and move throughout our company.
Basic Work Requirements:

Repetitive lifting including bulk cases averaging 30lbs and weighing up to 85lbs
Comfortable operating pallet jacks and heavy warehouse equipment
Able to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, stand and walk on feet for shifts ranging from 8-12 hours
Detail orientated, accuracy in case selection
Reliable and punctual

Preferred Work Requirements:

3 years bulk selection warehouse experience
Experience operating pallet jacks and warehouse equipment
