Description of Job

This position will be the gatekeeper for files coming into customer service at Integrated Document Solutions for print. Along with pre-press production responsibilities, this position will be assigned design jobs such as stationary, brochures, annual reports, large format projects and much more. The position designs and produces visual communication materials with industry-standard publishing and graphic design software using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, QuarkXPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.) on an Apple Macintosh workstation in a cross-platform environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Pre-press Print Production – Reviews client-provided files as they are received and prepares them for print. Flags and resolves potential printing issues in the production phase and coordinates with the Production team to achieve a smooth printing process. Graphic Design Services – Designs and produces visual communication in a cross-platform environment. Maintains records, job logs and backup computer files of projects by utilizing a system of forms and files developed by this unit. Produces projects and coordinates with clients with regard to desired product, budget and deadline, ensuring compliance with brand standards and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Education and Experience:

At least an Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment OR additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
At least one year of experience in an occupational field related to designing and producing visual communication materials which must include a high level of proficiency in Graphics Design software applications

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position

Demonstrated ability in Adobe Creative Suite

Experience in a Production environment

Demonstrated experience in customer service

Conditions of Employment:

A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.

Travel As needed for meetings and conferences

Effective September 20, 2021, employees will be required to attest to and verify whether or not they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Employees who have not been fully vaccinated may be required to submit to serial testing in the future. Upon hire, new employees will have three (3) business days to provide attestation to their status with proof of vaccination. Vaccinated employees must provide proof of vaccination.

Note: Fully Vaccinated means two (2) weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two (2) weeks after the single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine, as defined by the most recent State of Colorado’s Public Health Order and current guidance issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.


If you receive notice that you have been eliminated from consideration for this position, you may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board or request a review by the State Personnel Director.

An appeal or review must be submitted on the official appeal form, signed by you or your representative. This form must be delivered to the State Personnel Board by email (dpa_state.personnelboard@state.co.us), postmarked in US Mail or hand delivered (1525 Sherman Street, 4th Floor, Denver CO 80203), or faxed
(303.866.5038) within ten (10) calendar days from your receipt of notice or acknowledgement of the department’s action.
