Description of Job
This position is full-time, term limited through December 2024.
Position Description:
The Legislative Aide reports to the Manager of Operations for Legislative Affairs, and provides full time, year round general and administrative support to the Governor’s legislative team. This position will spend a portion of their time on administrative support related to the decision process for dispersing payments from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), and a portion of their time related to the general duties of the legislative team.
Duties and Responsibilities Related to ARPA:
Provide administrative support to the policy and legislative team related to ARPA processes;
Prepare and distribute briefing documents related to ARPA;
Prepare meeting agendas and materials related to ARPA;
Work with the Governor’s legislative, budget and policy teams to ensure alignment related to ARPA requirements.
Other duties related to ARPA as necessary.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities May Include:
Manage calendars and scheduling for supervisors and other team members;
Facilitate review and analysis of legislation and proposed legislation that impacts executive agencies and coordinate relevant policy, budget and legislative staff;
Coordinate bill-signing events;
Manage various internal tracking processes and databases;
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Commitment to consistent weekly hours and timeliness.
Detail oriented – does not let important details through the cracks or derail a project.
Excellent writing, communication, and proofreading skills.
Strong individual initiative/work ethic.
Commitment to public service.
Plans, organizes, schedules, and budgets time in an efficient, productive manner.
Responsibly handles and participates in confidential work.
Proficiency with software applications including Google Drive products such as Docs, Sheets and Slides or equivalent, and a familiarity with databases such as Salesforce.
Strong commitment to good government and nonpartisanship
Maintains stable performance when under heavy pressure or stress

Conditions of Employment
Applicants must pass a thorough background check prior to employment.
Effective September 20, 2021, employees will be required to attest to and verify that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and may be required to submit to regular serial testing. Upon hire, new employees will have three (3) business days to provide attestation to their Covid-19 vaccination status with proof of vaccination. Testing, if required, will take place in-person and will be considered paid work time.
Note: Fully Vaccinated means two (2) weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two (2) weeks after the single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine, all as defined by the State of Colorado’s Public Health Order and guidance issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
