Enhanced Driver Licensing Services Representative 1-2

Everett Licensing Services Office located at 5313 Evergreen Way

Workdays – Monday through Friday

Fulltime – Non-Permanent

Per Governor Inslee’s
Proclamation 21-14

As the face of the Department of Licensing, your service will have a direct impact on the members of the community as well as public safety across Washington State, helping every Washington resident live, work, drive and thrive.

In this position, you will receive extensive training to confidently issue driver licenses, enhanced driver licenses, and identification cards to the public. In addition, you will conduct driving skills tests, authenticate identity documents through on-line verification, conduct face-to-face interviews with applicants to validate their identity and consistently provide friendly and helpful customer service to the public with enthusiasm and a smile. In an office setting, you will be working with a dynamic and diverse team, providing world-class customer service to every customer, every time!

Please Note:

This is a customer facing position that requires being able to physically work at a Licensing Services Office.
This position includes an in-training plan and will be filled at the LSR 1 level (Salary Range 39 $3067 – $3987/monthly). Upon successful completion of the training plan, you will be placed at the LSR 2 level (Salary Range 43 $3370 – $4398/monthly).
Upon completing training and certification, you will be authorized to issue Enhanced Drivers Licenses (EDL), which will result in a 10% pay increase.
This is a non-permanent position. The expected duration is 12 months.
Verified reliability and malfeasance check for previous five years of employment.
This position works a Monday through Friday schedule.
Prior to a new hire a pre-employment background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
In addition, an acceptable fingerprint based criminal history background check is also required for this position, as a condition of employment. Fingerprints will be used to check the criminal history records of the FBI. You will have the capability to review and challenge any record through the FBI.
Free ORCA Pass to all employees who are permanently assigned to work in Snohomish County.

Required Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship.
Valid WA driver license and five years of licensed driving experience. Please note: the valid driver license must have no restrictions other than corrective lenses, or you must have the ability to obtain one upon hire.
Typing speed of 30 words per minute (please note, proof is required upon applying).
Two years of direct customer service work experience providing product/services to the general public.
One year of experience using electronic systems and form templates to input data, navigate between multiple forms and screens, edit information and save completed work.
Successful completion of all components of the training program as a Licensing Services Representative 1. (i.e., trained and proficient in all aspects of issuing driver licenses to the public and conducting drive tests.)

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:

Applicants who also possess the following may receive additional consideration by the hiring manager:

One year of experience evaluating complex information to ensure accuracy and verifying compliance with rules, laws, policies, procedures, or eligibility requirements to receive a product of service.
One year of experience explaining rules, policies and or procedures are regular daily functions. Experience must include the frequent application of techniques to ensure professionalism and mutual understanding.
One year of experience with the ability to responsibly and accurately handle the public’s money when processing financial transactions. This includes receiving cash, making change, counting down tills, and/or committing fiscal resources. This also includes consistently following applicable fiscal guidelines, regulations, and principles.
Experience performing driver license examiner duties and issuing driver licenses and id’s (any state).
